Financial Controller

Location: Phuket Thailand
You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or
CPA certification is preferred. - Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably within the hospitality
industry or luxury hotels. - Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and
forecasting. - Familiarity with hotel-specific financial metrics and performance indicators.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-
financial stakeholders.
Responsibilities:-
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation, review, and presentation of accurate and timely financial
statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. - Conduct regular financial analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for
improvement, and present findings to the hotel’s management team. - Prepare detailed financial reports for the owners, corporate headquarters, and
other stakeholders as required. - Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Collaborate with department heads to develop annual operating budgets and long-
term financial forecasts. - Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing regular variance analysis and
recommendations for cost management and revenue enhancement. - Assist in the development and evaluation of capital expenditure projects.
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard hotel
assets and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. - Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws, and coordinate
with external auditors during annual audits. - Cash Management:
- Monitor daily cash flow and maintain adequate liquidity to meet operational
requirements. - Optimize cash management strategies to maximize interest income and minimize
borrowing costs. - Cost Management:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality and guest
satisfaction. - Review and analyze departmental expenses to ensure they are within budget and
aligned with operational needs. - Inventory and Procurement:
- Oversee inventory management processes, including the valuation of inventory and
the implementation of controls to prevent shrinkage. - Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers
and ensure compliance with procurement policies. - Financial Systems and Technology:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest financial management software and technology
trends, implementing efficient systems to streamline financial processes. - Train and support finance team members in using financial systems effectively.
