Financial Controller

Industry:- Hospitality

Location: Phuket Thailand

You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or
    CPA certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably within the hospitality
    industry or luxury hotels.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and
    forecasting.
  • Familiarity with hotel-specific financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-
    financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities:-

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and presentation of accurate and timely financial
    statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for
    improvement, and present findings to the hotel’s management team.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports for the owners, corporate headquarters, and
    other stakeholders as required.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop annual operating budgets and long-
    term financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze budget performance, providing regular variance analysis and
    recommendations for cost management and revenue enhancement.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of capital expenditure projects.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard hotel
    assets and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and laws, and coordinate
    with external auditors during annual audits.
  • Cash Management:
  • Monitor daily cash flow and maintain adequate liquidity to meet operational
    requirements.
  • Optimize cash management strategies to maximize interest income and minimize
    borrowing costs.
  • Cost Management:
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality and guest
    satisfaction.
  • Review and analyze departmental expenses to ensure they are within budget and
    aligned with operational needs.
  • Inventory and Procurement:
  • Oversee inventory management processes, including the valuation of inventory and
    the implementation of controls to prevent shrinkage.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers
    and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Financial Systems and Technology:
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest financial management software and technology
    trends, implementing efficient systems to streamline financial processes.
  • Train and support finance team members in using financial systems effectively.
